Transit Day Grows

We are a little more than 3 weeks away from Public Transit Day and we couldn't be more excited, and maybe a little anxious. Not only have we grown Public Transit Day to be a regional affair, with Tri-Rail, Palm Beach MPO and Broward MPO on board as collaborators, but we now have twenty two elected leaders from across Miami-Dade County and its municipalities that have taken the pledge. Is your local commissioner, councilperson or mayor on this list? If not, reach out to them! Not sure how to reach them -- just ask us.

  • Nelson Rodriguez - Councilman, Town of Miami Lakes
  • Tony Lama - Councilman, Town of Miami Lakes

We've updated our media toolkit for official use. The toolkit provides a pre-drafted press release, media advisory, newsletter story and even a proclamation to make spreading the word a breeze, particularly through municipal and county offices. Our partners are working just as hard as we are to create a memorable and enjoyable Transit Day. December 9th will bring lots of little goodies courtesy of some of Miami's strongest transit advocates. From intimate, neighborhood focused music performances, to a picnic lunch at The Underline's Brickell station, you'll have plenty of reasons to hop on transit. Here's what's on tap so far. Follow our Facebook event page for updates and additions.
